Throughout the year, Peabody hosts a variety of activities before and after school. These programs encourage the exploration and expansion of learning outside the regular classroom curriculum. Some registration sheets are available in the main hallway in the wall displays. Mondays & Wednesdays 3:15-4:45 p.m., Feb 22 To April 7: Robotics Club — 4th and 5th grades — build robots using Legos, programming them to compete with other LPS Elementary schools — enrollment limit is 9 students — Linda Hellow, instructor — $20 — 6 weeks, twice a week
Mondays 3:15-4:30 p.m., Jan 25—Mar 15: Adventures in Clay — PreK-2nd grades in Art Room explore techniques to create several finished clay pieces which will be glazed and fired. Christine Katzenberg, instructor. Approx $90 — 6 weeks, once a week (no class Feb 15 or Mar 1)
Tuesdays and Thursdays before school, 7:55-8:35 a.m.: Band — sponsored by Heather Davis
Tuesdays, Jan 19—Mar 2: Spanish Club — 2nd-5th grades in Mr. Alvidrez’s Room; K-1st grades in Mrs. Wilson’s Kindergarten Room — Vicky Rosado - learn Spanish through games and fun activities. $65 — 7 weeks, once a week
Tuesdays 3:15-4:15 p.m., Jan 26—Apr 27: Planktones — 3rd-5th grades in the Music Room — learn to read music notation playing xylophones in a mixed-age ensemble — Ann Wyatt, instructor. $70 — 12 weeks, once a week (no class Mar 2 or 23)*
