I have been teaching since 1990 in 5 different schools in 10 different positions. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Fort Lewis College and my Masters' Degree from Idaho State University in Curriculum and Instruction. Currently I am a full time Literacy Specialist. I love the business of education so much that whenever I switch positions I always claim that my new position is my favorite. Yes, being a literacy specialist is the best job I've ever had. I am passionate about helping struggling readers. I love the challenges the job poses for me and all of the research and learning that goes with it. To see a child reach grade level after putting forth a great deal of effort and hard work is immensely rewarding!
I am blessed with an amazing family of two boys and my husband, who is also a teacher. Together, we love to ride bikes, play games, camp, hike and vacation. I also spend my free time doing Interior Design, reading, cooking and exercising.

This is my third year as the 4th,5th and kindergarten literacy specialist at Peabody. Before coming to Peabody I taught in Iowa City, Iowa where I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in reading. I was a Title 1 reading specialist there as well as a multiage 3rd/4th grade teacher. My husband and I moved to Madison, Wisconsin for his work and I had the opportunity to stay home for several years with my children.
Before leaving Madison for Colorado (following my husband's work again!) I taught preschool for 2-6 year olds in a private school and realized how much I missed working with children in a school setting. I feel privledged to have ended up here at Peabody in a job I love with a great staff and an incredible parent community. In fact, I feel that Peabody does such a good job of putting kids first that both of my children are now Peabody students!
