"The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn."

Second Grade Teacher
"To love what you do and feel that it matters - how could anything be more fun!" This quote by Katherine Graham epitomizes the last twenty-two years of my career in the field of education. I have had the honor of teaching in the Littleton Public Schools since my graduation from the University of Northern Colorado in 1985, most of which has been spent at Peabody Elementary. At U.N.C., I earned a bachelor of arts degree in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (K-12). Later, I received my master’s degree in Educationally Handicapped (K-12) from the University of Denver. For the first six years of my teaching career, I taught special education. Currently, I am in my fifth year of teaching second grade, but have also taught fifth grade and fourth grade. I am originally from Casper, Wyoming. I moved to Colorado to attend college. I enjoy spending time with family and friends - dancing, playing golf, watching the Broncos, and reading.

"Teaching is a process of becoming that continues throughout life, never completely achieved, never completely denied. This is the challenge and the fun of being a teacher - there is no ultimate end to the process." - (Frances Mayforth) It has been an incredible experience teaching at Peabody for the last 27 years. Being part of the Peabody family is truly amazing. It is a wonderful place to be each day. My educational journey began in Arvada, attending first grade there. My family moved to Castle Rock when I was six years old. I spent the next several years attending schools in Douglas County. After graduation, I pursued a teaching career at the University of Northern Colorado, completing my Bachelor's degree and my Master's degree. In 1981, I began teaching at Peabody. What a journey it has been! I have had the opportunity to teach three different grade levels and work with truly the best staff, students, and community there are. I love teaching at Peabody! As I think about this journey, a quote always comes to my mind... "Much I have learned from my teachers, more from my colleagues, but most from my students" -(Talmud)
