In addition to the basic academic curriculum, Peabody Elementary provides every child with the opportunity to enrich their school experience through music, art, physical education, library and technology. At Peabody, these components are referred to as “Specials”. Children in grades 1-5 have 60 minutes each day of one of our “specials” classes. Art, music and physical education are taught by licensed teachers. In Kindergarten, our students experience specials each day but for a 30 minute time period.

Beginning my second year at Peabody Elementary, I am pleasantly surprised by the excitement of students toward their Music Programs. I have previously taught 5-12 Band in Nebraska and am having the time of my life teaching Elementary Music. I received my Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. I am working toward a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading. When I'm not at school, I enjoy camping, skiing, and doing home improvement projects. As of this summer, I am engaged and will be married in March of 2009. My fiance lives close by and I look forward to more years here at Peabody. 

Colorado has quickly become my home and I thank you for your interest, support, and kind welcome!
