 Welcome to Specials

In addition to the basic academic curriculum, Peabody Elementary provides every child with the opportunity to enrich their school experience through music, art, physical education, library and technology. At Peabody, these components are referred to as “Specials”. Children in grades 1-5 have 50 minutes each day of one of our “specials” classes. Art, music and physical education are taught by licensed teachers. In Kindergarten, our students experience specials each day but for a 30 minute time period.

 Computer

Ms. Arlie Chapman
Computer/Tech Teacher

My name is Arlie Chapman and I am the new Computer Teacher!  I grew up in Steamboat Springs and I am still adjusting to life on the front range.  I graduated from CU Boulder in 2006 with a degree in Geography.  Last year I was teaching computer to 8th graders in Steamboat.  I really enjoy working with the younger students, and I am always impressed with how much elementary students know about computers!

Entering my third year at Peabody Elementary, I look forward to all the new adventures students and I will share, exploring the new LPS Music Curriculum and Music Gameplan materials. Music classes will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays this year at Peabody.

I have previously taught 5-12 Band in Nebraska and am having the time of my life teaching Elementary Music. I received my Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading from Grand Canyon University. When I'm not at school or teaching private music lessons, I enjoy camping, skiing, doing home improvement projects, and spending time with friends, family, and my cat, Dutchess, and dog, Goose.
