Littleton Public Schools Food Services Department has some good news to share. The elementary school lunch program has been updated to better meet the needs of students and families. The improved menu offers choices of low fat and fiber rich entrée items packed with nutrition to help children grow and learn. To further increase the nutritive value of all LPS elementary school lunches, side dishes offered to students will include fresh fruit and vegetable choices every day.
The menu has been expanded to include fresh salads, or rice and noodle bowls (made with whole grains) as entrée choices. Additionally, the low fat yogurt and bagel with cream cheese will be offered as entrée choices every day. The five piece chicken nugget meal, which will also be available every day, contains less than 30% calories from fat.
Children who enjoy traditional school lunch foods will be happy to know that these items are included as choices on the new menu. In order to increase the nutrient/calorie ratio of these items, we’ve reengineered our recipes and rewritten our food specifications so these items contain less fat and more fiber than before. When coupled with the new fresh fruit and vegetable sides, these well-liked items now provide healthier lunches for LPS students. With such great lunch choices we hope families who have not purchased lunch in the past will give school lunch a try.

Lunch Policies/Lunch Schedule
A 45-minute lunch period is provided for students in grades 1 - 5, and students in the KED, K+ Preschool programs. Students may eat lunch at school by bringing a lunch from home or purchase lunch at school.
